  • NJAIJ's Movement Mentorship Program is designed to build a powerful and connected immigrant rights movement. Institutional hierarchies have kept networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities inaccessible to non profit workers who are majority women and people of Color. The Movement Mentorship program acknowledges that advocates of Color have a unique analysis of power, politics, and public policy because of our lived experiences

This 5 month program is for mentees who seek to grow their careers as social justice advocates and for movement mentors that look to give back to the movement they are a part of. The goal for the Movement Mentorship Program is to ensure NJAIJ members have a strong support system as they navigate their professional development, lead advocacy in Trenton, and invest their skills back into community.

  • Empowerment Trainings are workshops and presentations for NJAIJ members to enhance their skills and knowledge as they build a powerful immigrant rights movement in New Jersey. NJAIJ uses popular education, participatory facilitation, and train-the-trainer models to ensure our members can use this knowledge to build sustainable community power. Training topics are developed with NJAIJ member input, and supports the leadership development of our coalition.

  • Advocacy Academy
This week-long program strengthens the immigrant justice movement by investing in the skills and training of advocatesorganizers, and activists so that together, we can share strategies, launch initiatives or campaigns of our own, and build sustained community power.

This program is led by and designed for social justice advocates from NJAIJ's membership and partner network. By the end of the week, participants will have all the tools needed to launch a successful advocacy campaign of their own. Participants also "test" their own strategies using real examples from past New Jersey campaigns or through ones they are currently working on in real time!
